About Kristen Epps

I teach history and study the Civil War era, American West, and history of Kansas. My first book, published in 2016, explored the long history of Black enslavement on the Kansas-Missouri border. In addition to teaching, I edit the peer-reviewed, quarterly journal _Kansas History_.
